The Hamilton Big Blue kept their playoff aspirations alive on Friday night with a 20-13 road win over the Mason Comets.
Hamilton (6-3, 4-2) got up early, but had to hold off a Mason rally to secure the victory. Senior quarterback Brian Cleckley picked up 144 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries while throwing for 34 yards on 1-of-5 passing. Classmates Devin Jarrett and Chris Tarrant added 127 yards and 71 yards on the ground respectively.
Mason (5-4, 4-2) was shut down for three quarters before scoring 10 fourth-quarter points, including a 7-yard touchdown run by David Fulcher. The senior struggled to find holes though as he finished with a meager 38 yards on 15 carries.
Hamilton travels to Fairfield and Mason heads to Sycamore in the final weekend of the regular season next Friday night.
