Kohler announces recall of bath doors

KOHLER, WIS. - Kohler Co., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is voluntarily recalling two individual "Sterling" brand bath door units.

The recalled bath doors include the STERLING Finesse™ Frameless by-pass bath door models, manufactured and potentially sold at the Lowes location in Cincinnati, OH during August 2010. The glass may not have been properly tempered during manufacturing and may cause injury if broken.

Consumers can identify these specific doors by the tempering date located on the bath door glass panel, which reads "080410" or by the SAU (serial) number on the manufacturer's box.  These specific SAU (serial) numbers can be found on the white bar code label on the spine of the box below the retail label.  The affected door models and SAU (serial) numbers are as follows:

Door Model 5425-59DR-G05 Sterling Finesse frameless by-pass bath door with Deep Bronze finish and clear glass

Serial numbers SAU376MDZ and SAU376MF8 potentially sold at the Lowes Store # 2338 6150 Harrison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45247

Consumers with these bath doors should stop using the doors immediately and contact Kohler Co. to receive a replacement door. For more information, consumers can contact Kohler Co. at (866) 782-6329 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
