CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man who tried to escape from the Hamilton County courthouse was foiled by a courtroom officer with a taser.
Dorvas Dodds, 18, was in court Tuesday for a probation violation hearing. As the judge was about to send Dodds back to the River City Correctional Facility for violating his parole, Dodds attempted to make a run from the court room.
Dodds unfortunately ran into the jury room of the Hamilton County Courthouse, where there is only one door in or out. Dodds was cornered by Court Services Officer Mike Hartmann. After trying to push past the officer, and after failing to stop Dodds using verbal commands, Hartmann used his taser to incapacitate Dodds.
Dodds was returned to the courtroom, where he was then sentenced to two years at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
