CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Madisonville mother accused of giving marijuana to her three children has been indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury.
Valerie Cecil, 25, was arrested Wednesday on three counts of corrupting another with drugs. She was indicted on those charges, as well as three counts of endangering children.
Police say Cecil gave pot to her three children, ages 7, 4 and 1. Police say the incident allegedly happened on Sept. 1, but prosecutors say it had been going on for a longer period. Police were notified when the 7-year-old told another adult.
"There was a period of time where the police didn't know about this and when the child disclosed, then the police did their investigation," said Megan Shanahan, Hamilton County assistant prosecutor. "Additionally this is of course an ongoing course of conduct situation. Although the complaint does allege a single date, this is something that had been going on for period of time."
Cecil is currently out of jail on her own recognizance.
