CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Hughes High School Principal Virginia Rhodes is under suspension pending further investigation of the circumstances surrounding a field trip by students to the Hamilton County Board of Elections on October 13, 2010.

Rhodes was suspended by district officials for two weeks today, following a disciplinary conference with her attorney.

The district will be looking into possible violations of district policies and practices.

These include whether all the students on the trip were 18 years of age, whether they had parental permission, and whether there was adequate supervision by district employees on the trip.

Other issues to be investigated center on whether the vans in which the students were transported met district seat-capacity requirements, whether the drivers received the training required to transport students, and whether the volunteers and drivers had background check.
