Clermont County seeing increase in thefts

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - The Clermont County Sheriff's Office says is warning residents about an increasing number of theft and breaking and entering reports.

The crimes mostly involve garages and vehicles in the Buxton Meadows, Sycamore Creek, Bristol Lake, Tall Trees, Judd Road, Amelia-Olive Branch Road and State Route 132 areas of Batavia Township.

Police say the suspects are targeting unlocked vehicles and open garages and taking a variety of property, including GPS units, power tools, hand tools, electric trimmers, leaf blowers and other property.

Over 20 offenses have been reported. Residents in or around the affected areas are encouraged to ensure all vehicles, garages and outbuildings are locked and secure.

The Sheriff's Office has deployed extra cars and resources to the area in hopes of finding the perpetrators.
