LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - The Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of an explosion and fire that injured seven people at a townhouse complex in Lebanon.
The fire started at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night at the Steeplechase Townhomes in the 800 block of Franklin Road in Lebanon. Neighbors say they heard an explosion and went outside to find the several buildings on fire.
Two of the victims suffered severe burns, and five others - two adults and three children - suffered smoke inhalation. Those five people have been treated and released.
One of the badly burned victims was airlifted to the Miami Valley Hospital, and the other was taken by ground to another hospital. The Ohio State Fire Marshal says the victims were a woman and a juvenile female. Their names and ages have not been released. Officials say they suffered severe burns to 10 to 20 percent of her body.
Officials say three buildings and 22 units were damaged. The Red Cross is assisting those who have been displaced.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal was on scene all night investigating. A cause is still under investigation.
