SOUTH BEND, IN (FOX19) - The Director of Athletics for Notre Dame University will not be asking for the resignation of Coach Brian Kelly following the death of a student on the Notre Dame practice field.

Declan Sullivan was shooting Notre Dame football practice on a video camera from a scissor lift at the practice field. Despite warnings of high winds in the area, which had already forced some of the football practice to be indoors, Coach Kelly took the team to the outdoor practice field anyway.

The wind eventually caused Sullivan to fall to his death.

Notre Dame Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick announced Thursday that Notre Dame University will not hold Kelly responsible for Sullivan's death.
