Vigil held for 2002 murder victim

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - About 15 people gathered at an apartment complex in the 4800 block of Winton Road for a vigil in Tyrone McCrary's honor. He was murdered in 2002, during a suspected "Tot Lot Gang" hit.

"We want closure. It's been 8 years today," says mother Adelle McCrary.

That about sums up the hug and tears that came with this vigil. They still remember him after all these years.

"He always kept a smile on his face, wherever he went. He always kept a smile on. I don't care what he was going through," says Adelle.

Tyrone's case is still unsolved, which is why his mother still wears a shirt with his photo on it. She says someone knows what happened. Someone has an answer.

"Just come forward, stop being a coward," says Adelle.

Every year since Tyrone's death in 2002, friends and family have held a vigil or a get together to ask for justice. They've often met at the exact spot where he was shot.

"It's hard, it's hard. No body knows how my heart aches every day," says Adelle.
