Weekend Watch: NKY 1A

Gallatin County (2-8) at Beechwood (7-3)
Fresh off their big upset of NewCath, the Tigers are poised for a deep playoff run. Whether or not they have enough to grab yet another state title remains to be seen. They should have no problems putting away a Gallatin County team that is giving up nearly 38 points per game.

Bellevue (4-6) at Eminence (4-5)
Bellevue made a solid run a year ago, but many of the key contributors from that team graduated. Now it's up to this year's team to make a mark in the postseason. Eminence struggles to stop the run and that equals good news for Tigers' running back DJ Slater.

Bishop Brossart (6-4) at Frankfort (7-3)
The Mustangs have enjoyed the best season in the program's short history. They could top it off by winning a playoff game. However, they'll be hard-pressed to do so against a Frankfort team that has enjoyed a long-run of success.

Bracken County (2-8) at Walton-Verona (7-3)
Class 1A's top rushing team, Walton-Verona, is not only in the playoffs but hosting a game. They get a Bracken County team that hasn't enjoyed much success. Look for a big night from running back Austin Baumgarner and a victory for the home team.
