Weekend Watch: Ohio DV

We look ahead to this week's Division V playoff action of local interest in Ohio.

Division V, Region 20
Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.

#8 Badin (6-5) vs. #5 Coldwater (8-3)
It has been just over a year since Badin was embarrassed by Coldwater 41-0 putting an end to the Rams season. The Cavaliers aren't loaded with as much talent as they were in 2009 and Badin has more than they did for that tilt. Expect a nip-and-tuck affair and the final deference being seven points or less. The outcome could go either way so special teams play and timely takeaways will play a major role in the outcome. Wide receiver Reese Klenke was named the MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year for Coldwater. He has caught 74 balls for 1,330 yards and 19 touchdowns. Matching him up against Jeff Smith and Luke Wurzelbacher will be a treat to watch.

#3 Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (8-3) vs. #2 West Jefferson (11-0)
The seniors on this CHCA team remember what a bitter taste a playoff loss in their sophomore year to West Jefferson left. The Eagles have found great balance running and throwing the ball with Nick Lawley at quarterback, Didi Charles at tailback and Austin Jones at receiver. Look for that trio to stretch the Roughriders defense. West Jefferson is led by quarterback DJ Gray, Charlie Ramey and Sean Prather on offense all who have at least 10 rushing touchdowns on the year. Chaney Fulton is a disruptive force with 10 sacks for their defense.
