WILLIAMSTOWN, KY (FOX19) - The Grant County Animal Shelter is holding an emergency adoption fair over the weekend.
The shelter is currently housing over 75 dogs, but only has 60 kennels. The dogs need to be adopted by Monday, Nov. 22.
New animals, often entire litters, are arriving daily. The new arrivals are in addition to many large, older dogs that have been shelter residents for several months and seem to have a harder time finding a home.
The adoption event is planned at Kroger Marketplace, located at 635 Chestnut Dr., in Walton on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dogs and Cats will be on hand for the public to meet and greet and will be available to adopt that day.
Adoption fees have been temporarily reduced to help move animals quickly: dogs will be available for $100 and cats will be available for $35. The animals have already been spayed or neutered and are up-to-date on their vaccinations.
