MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH - Two are dead following a two vehicle crash on I-275. One of the vehicles was carrying three children.
The accident happened underneath the Wards Corner Road underpass on northbound I-275 around 8:30 a.m.
Police say a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country mini van carrying five people was struck by a 2007 Ford Focus heading southbound in the northbound lanes. The van rolled over and caught fire. The drivers of both vehicles died.
The driver of the Ford Focus, Julie Belliston-Anuszkiewicz, was 25.
The driver of the van, Lori E. Morris of Milford, was 41. She was transporting her two daughters, ages 14 and 10, and the 14-year-old daughter of her passenger, Cindy Blair to Columbus for a cheerleading competition. All four passengers were transported to the hospital. One of the 14-year-old girls had to be taken to Children's Hospital by aircare.
The children are all cheerleaders from Midwest Elite Cheer in West Chester. Midwest Elite Cheer canceled it's open gym Saturday night to have a prayer vigil for the Morris and Blair families.
"Our main focus at this point and time are the kids, want to get the kids in here, gather around as a family, as we are a family just so they'll know we are here for them," says Joyce Lee who works for Midwest Cheer Elite.
