CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A doctor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is facing charges after police say he was driving drunk when he struck two pedestrians.
Dr. Raymond Troy, 43, is charged with OVI and resisting arrest. He entered a written plea of not guilty on Monday.
The incident happened early Sunday morning on Taft Road. Police responded to a report of an accident with injuries and upon arriving at the scene, found Dr. Troy kneeling over two individuals.
Dr. Troy admitted to an officer that he hit the pedestrians with his vehicle. The officer noticed Troy had slurred speech and glassy eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.
When police asked Troy to perform a field sobriety test, he refused and said he wanted to speak with an attorney. When police tried to handcuff him, Troy kept his hands in his pockets and refused to be handcuffed. He submitted after he was Tased.
Troy works in the Psychiatry department at Cincinnati Children's. Hospital officials told FOX19 they are reviewing the facts in the case before they take any action.
The victims suffered non life-threatening injuries.
