Hamilton House fire ruled accidental

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -- The Hamilton Fire Department has ruled a Monday morning fire an accident.

At 11:30am, Fire crews were called to the 300 block of Twinbrook Drive for a report of a possible house fire.

When crews arrived they found that the fire occurred in the laundry room with smoke and heat throughout the home. The main portion of the fire was self extinguished, but fire had extended into the insulation in the attic.

Crews were on the scene for two hours putting out the fire in the attic insulation and extinguishing hot spots.

Damaged is estimated to be $25, 000. The cause has not been determined but has been ruled accidental.

No one was in the home but the pet dog died in the smoke.
