Kentucky Governor will have flags lowered in honor of soldier

FRANKFORT, Kentucky (FOX19) – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings must be lowered to half-staff on Friday in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died.

According to the Department of Defense, Specialist Andrew L. Hutchins, 20, of New Portland, Maine, died November 8th at Khost province, Afghanistan after his unit was attacked by insurgents.

Funeral service for Hutchins will be held on November 19th at 10:30 a.m. in Augusta, Maine.

Beshear encourages individuals, business, organization and government agencies to join in the tribute.
