Fallen Hamilton soldier remembered

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Hamilton residents will say their final goodbyes this week to a local soldier killed in Iraq.

Sergeant David Luff Jr., 29, of Hamilton, died November 21 in Tikrit of wounds he suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. 

Luff's visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton High School.

His funeral is Friday morning at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, followed by burial with full military honors at Greenwood Cemetery.

Sgt. Luff was a married father of a 6 month child.  He had served in the army for eight years and was scheduled to come home in February for two weeks. The Hamilton High School graduate also has a brother serving in the Army.

Luff was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
