Man arrested after standoff

GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Green Township man was arrested after a standoff with police early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the 6700 block of Perinwood Drive just after 4 a.m. on a report of a domestic incident.

Police say Christopher Roll, 35, attempted to cause physical harm to his parents using a large kitchen knife after they had locked themselves in their bedroom after a violent outburst by Roll.

When police responded, Roll locked himself in a separate bedroom, still armed with the knife. Officers were able to get Roll's parents out of the residence to safety. Roll refused to comply with commands and barricaded himself in the bedroom.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Special Response Team (SRT) was called to the scene. After speaking with a hostage negotiator, Roll agreed to surrender his knife. At approximately 6:30 a.m., he voluntarily exited the bedroom and was taken into custody.

He was transported to University Hospital for a psychological evaluation.

He is being charged with two counts of felonious assault pending his release from the hospital.
