Butler County says no to increased Sales Tax proposal
BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Butler County residents should be glad to hear that the Butler County Commission has decided to not pursue a plan to increase their Sales Tax rate. Instead, Commissioners have decided to try and balance the budget for 2011 by keeping costs under control.
According to the county administrator, Butler has the second lowest Sales tax rate in the state. Which is one reason why the increase was considered in the first place.
The proposal was expected to be discussed on Monday at the Commission meeting but it is no longer going to be. There were several informal meetings however to see what the residents thought about the possible increase.
