2 indicted for heroin overdose death

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - A Clermont County grand jury has indicted two men in connection with the death of a man who overdosed on heroin.

On Sept. 29, Shane M. Richardson, 21, of Milford, was found dead in the parking lot of the Williamsburg Township Wendy's restaurant.

Richardson's cause of death was subsequently determined to be a heroin overdose. 

Investigation revealed that Alex William Deel, 23, of Williamsburg Township, sold the heroin to Richardson. Further investigation revealed Deel had initially purchased the heroin from Keith Michael Wieland, 25.

As a result of the investigation, Deel was indicted for involuntary manslaughter, trafficking in heroin and corrupting another with drugs. Wieland has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter, trafficking in heroin and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

Keith Wieland  is currently incarcerated in the Clermont County Jail on unrelated charges. Alex Deel is currently incarcerated in the Boone County Jail on unrelated charges.
