Woman arrested for leaving children home alone in filthy conditions

COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (FOX19) - Police arrested a mother who left her two young children home alone at around 12:30 pm Friday, December 3rd.

Shawnta Watkins, 22, was arrested and according to police, while she was being handcuffed, she kicked one of the deputies in the leg and kicked the side of a police car.

According to police, Watkins left this morning around 8:30 am Friday morning. Police arrested her when she came home around 12:30 pm that same day.

According to police, the house was filthy; there was no phone and no heat.

Her children, who are 9-years-old and 2-years-old are staying with relatives at this time.

Watkins has been charged with Endangering Children X2 (2nd degree Misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest (2nd degree Misdemeanor).
