New Cath Takes Title

With a first year head coach, the Newport Central Catholic football team won the program's fourth state title, beating Owensboro Catholic 42-0.

Running Back Chris Kelley and Junior Quarterback Brady Hightchew each ran for two touchdowns and the Breds defense shutout an Aces team averaging 44 points per game.

Eddie Eviston took over as head coach at NCC after Bob Schneider retired as the winningest high school football coach in Kentucky history.  The state title puts the finishing touches on New Cath's 13 and 2 season.
