BURLINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The lawyer for a Northern Kentucky man says the death of his client's infant daughter was accidental.

Trial began on Monday in Burlington for Benjamin and Laura Senseman, who are accused of killing their 2-month-old baby girl.

Defense attorney Wil Zevely told jurors in his opening statement that he couldn't solve the puzzle of Chloe Senseman's death for them, but said his client wasn't guilty of anything.

Prosecutors say they'll show the 2-month-old child died after weeks of abuse by Benjamin Senseman and that the baby's mother Laura Senseman should have known her daughter was being injured.

An autopsy after the baby's July 2009 death showed several broken bones in the process of healing. Both parents are charged with murder and first-degree criminal abuse.
