BLUE CREEK, OH (FOX19) - Police say a domestic dispute led to a man killing his stepson in Adams County.

It happened just before midnight Sunday night on SR 125 in Blue Creek.

Emergency crews responded and found William Stunich, 29, lying in a hallway with a gunshot wound to the chest and neck. EMTs began life-saving efforts and called a helicopter to transport the Stunich to the hospital; however, he died while in the helicopter.

Police arrested Rocky Purdin, 44, at the scene, in connection with Stunich's death.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Purdin is Stunich's stepfather and the two were involved in a dispute that escalated to Stunich being shot three times.

The case remains under investigation. Purdin is being held at the Adams County Jail on one count of murder.
