Surveillance video captures dramatic break-in

HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - Police are looking for a suspect who was caught on surveillance video breaking into a Hyde Park boutique.

The Fig Leaf Boutique was broken into early Sunday morning. The suspect got away with over $100,000 in merchandise.

"It's devastating. My heart goes out to the ladies that own the Fig Leaf, you know, you never want to hear that his happens to anyone," said Ashley Maguire, owner of the nearby Fetish Boutique. "In Hyde Park we're a community where we stick together a a team, and it's you know, really it's heightened our awareness."

An awareness that this time of year is also up for the officers at Cincinnati Police's District Two. They said this break-in is one of the worst they've seen in a while.

"A lot of times when people do this, they brag about it, so we're hoping for somebody that knows or has heard him bragging about it, or sees him with some of the merchandise," said Officer Will Kinney.

With the suspect still out there, Maguire says she'll be taking even more steps to keep herself and her merchandise safe.

"We'll be paying attention to where ever single piece is, and monitoring just as much as we were, if not more now," she said.

Anyone with any information on the break-in should call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
