CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The most notorious survivor of accused serial killer Anthony Sowell has filed a civil suit against him.
Gladys Wade actually had Sowell arrested for attacking her, and police went into his house, but a city prosecutor ruled no charges. The bodies of 11 women were found months later. A few other families have also sued Sowell, but those civil cases have been put on hold until after his criminal trial.
Still, other families are building lawsuits against the city of Cleveland, arguing the city didn't do enough to find missing women or stop Sowell before the women were killed.
