CINCINNATI (FOX 19) -- Two UC Bearcats are named to the first-team all-BIG EAST Conference football team.
Zach Collaros, unanimously selected at quarterback, and Armon Binns gets one of two wide receiver honors.
According to a press release from the University of Cincinnati five other Bearcats are named to the second-team, including: Tight end Ben Guidugli (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands), center Jason Kelce (Cleveland Hts., Ohio/Cleveland Hts.), running back Isaiah Pead (Columbus, Ohio/Eastmood Academy), linebacker J.K. Schaffer (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle), and wide receiver D.J. Woods (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville).
Collaros started and played in every game this season, less one. He suffered a knee injury in October that sidelined him for the team's Oct. 30 loss to Syracuse.
Collaros lead the conference in passing yards per game, averaging 263 yds. He went 225-of-383 for 2,902 yards and 26 touchdowns.
"Binns led the league in both receptions per game (6.2) and receiving yards per game (91.8). He caught 75 balls for 1,101 yards and a team-high 10 touchdowns. Binns became just the seventh UC receiver to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in a single season and closed out his Bearcats career with a reception in 25 straight games. He had six 100-yard games over the season," according to UC Sports Information dept.
