Library gives thanks to troops

By Mark Shuller - Email

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) – Visit the Clermont County Public Library (CCPL) between December 13, 2010 and January 15, 2011 to create a valentine or write a note of thanks to our deployed service men and women.

Craft supplies and letter templates will be available at the library beginning December 13. With the support of the Yellow Ribbon Support Center and the Clermont County Veterans Service Commission, the library will mail all cards and letters created at the library to troops serving all over the world.

Keith Maupin of the Yellow Ribbon Support Center offers his thoughts, "Our goal is to raise the morale of the men and women serving our country. The valentine project at the library is a great, easy way to do that."

An email form is also available on the library website for individuals who can't make a trip to the library to submit their letter. Mr. Maupin reminds us, "It's important to remember there's still a war going on & they need our support."

Call the library or visit online at www.clermontlibrary.org for more information. More information on veteran's services and the library's involvement can be found here: http://www.clermontlibrary.org/veterans.shtml.
