Police: Man choked girlfriend, held her in basement

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A College Hill man is facing charges after police say he choked his girlfriend, then held her against her will in their basement.

Reginald Brown, 38, is charged with kidnapping, felonious assault and domestic violence.

According to police documents, Brown got into a verbal altercation with his live-in girlfriend, then took a cord and choked her until she passed out. When she awoke, he choked her again with a garbage bag, then took her to the basement, where he held her several hours.

She was able to call police when he brought her back upstairs.

Brown was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
