CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cleves couple is behind bars for a series of sewer grate thefts.

Patricia Grimsley, 22, and Thomas Coyne, 24, both of Cleves, were arrested Monday night when police caught them selling sewer grates to Vegas Metals on SR 128 in Whitewater Township.

When deputies arrived, the couple fled the area and were later apprehended after they had discarded the grates at a nearby location.

Further investigation determined 15 sewer grates had been stolen from the Village of Cleves, two from the village of North Bend, 11 from Whitewater Township, seven from Miami Township, and an attempted theft of a sewer grate occurred in Colerain Township.

All of the sewer grates were recovered. Grimsley is charged with four counts of theft and one count of attempted theft. Coyne was charged with one count of receiving stolen property. Both were taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
