Kentucky Gov. recognizes sacrifice of a soldier

FRANKFORT, Kentucky (FOX19) - Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear recognized the sacrifice of a Fort Campbell soldier who died in Afghanistan.

According to the Department of Defense, Specialist Sean R. Cutsford, 22, of Radford, VA, died December 15 in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. He died after his unit was attacked by insurgents with small fire arms. 

He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY.

Governor Beshear has ordered that all state buildings lower their flags to half-staff on the day he is buried.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
