CINCINNATI (AP) - A Cincinnati-area man who lost part of one leg in a crash is training to ride a bike 700 miles as a fundraiser to benefit children who have lost limbs.

Green Township resident Scott Lane plans to use the donations he raises to help those children attend a Warren County summer camp for amputees.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the 41-year-old plumber will be able to use both legs once he's fitted with a prosthetic limb.

He's says even if he has to pedal with just one foot, he'll do it. He plans to ride next year from Ohio to the Amputee Coalition of America's national conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

He says the ride is a way to pass on the kindness that others showed him as he recovered from his accident.
