Care Cab provides free rides on New Year's

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – Free cab rides will be available to impaired party-goers on New Year's Eve to prevent drunk driving and help people get home safely.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) estimates that three in 10 people will be affected by an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime. Men between the ages of 21 and 34 are more likely to be involved in a fatal drunk driving crash.

Care Cab, a joint effort between MADD and AAA, will be available 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31 through midnight on Jan. 2, providing 30 hours of free service.  The cab ride by Towne Taxi is free for callers, 21 years old and over, in need of safe transportation from a public establishment to a private residence within the I-275 loop.  Call 513-768-FREE (513-768-3733) to request service.  The phone line will be active beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31.

For the past 14 years, Care Cab, a joint effort between MADD and AAA, has provided over 2,000 safe rides home to more than 5,200 passengers.  Hamilton County Safe Communities is also a proud partner of the program.
