Police chase ends in overturned vehicle; power outage

NORTH COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - Power was out in a North College Hill neighborhood after a police chase that ended in a crash Thursday night.

The police started chasing a man when he failed to pull over his vehicle for a traffic stop near the intersection of Memory Lane and Byrneside Drive in Colerain Township.

The chase ended on Goodman Avenue near Grace Avenue in North College Hill when the man overturned his vehicle. The crash also knocked out power in the area.

The driver was identified as Deonte Marquez Smith, 19, of Cincinnati. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital. When he is released, he will be taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center and charged with fleeing and eluding, driving without a valid license, operating a vehicle under influence and a headlight violation. He also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and a traffic warrant.
