CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Escape charges have been filed against an inmate who escaped from jail and injured himself.

According to court documents, Leonard Abraham, 46, used a padlock in a sock to break a window out of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Reading Road facility. He then jumped from the window onto Reading Road, injuring both of his ankles.

Unable to get up, Abraham asked a passerby for help to get back into the facility. He was interviewed and admitted to trying to escape.

He was charged with escape and arraigned Monday morning, where his bond was set at $50,000.  He is now being held at the Hamilton County Detention Center.
