GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) - The Indiana State Police aren't even safe from copper thieves.
Sgt. Noel Houze says someone took three copper grounding bars and about 10 feet of copper wire from the department's radio tower site a few miles south of Greensburg.
He says the theft didn't cause any transmission troubles for the tower and was spotted Thursday by an agency staffer who stopped at the southeastern Indiana site.
The stolen copper was valued at between $6,000 and $10,000 and was likely taken in the last couple of weeks.
State police asked that anyone with information about the theft contact the Versailles post.
