ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A vigil was held Friday night for a middle school student who was struck by a bus earlier this week.
The vigil was held at 6 p.m. at Julifs Park for Alexander Aldridge. Aldridge is a Nagel Middle School student who was hit Tuesday morning when he was darting between two buses on Nagel Road.
There was good news at the vigil, as the family announced that Aldridge had spoken his first words and his breathing tube had been removed.
The positive news made the vigil a celebration of Alex's recovery. A brief prayer was said, and then Alex's stepfather made the announcement of his recovery. This was followed by some of Alex's classmates signing a "Get Well Soon" card.
Alexander Aldridge is still recovering at Childrens Hospital.
