Cleopatra: The Exhibition opens at the Cincinnati Museum Center

 CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- The Cincinnati Museum is bringing Egypt to the Queen City with a new exhibit opening in February.

 Cleopatra: The Exhibition will feature a 16-foot, 5 and a half ton Colossus granite statue of a Ptolemaic ruler dating back from Cleopatra's dynasty. It was recovered from Heracleion, a sunken ancient city near Alexandria beneath the Mediterranean Sea.

The exhibit will also feature 150 artifacts recovered from the sands and seas in Egypt. The exhibit makes its debut on February 18 and will run through September 5th.

 Members of the media will get a first look at the Colossus statue as it arrived at the Cincinnati Museum Center on Friday morning on January 14.

 Cincinnati is the second of five North American cities this exhibition will travel to.
