OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) - Two women have been shot at an Over the Rhine restaurant.
Police say two men entered Tucker's Restaurant on Vine Street shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Carla Tucker, the owner's wife, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. Ranisha Burgin, an innocent bystander, was shot in the back of the neck and is in critical condition.
The suspects left the restaurant and fled in opposite directions. They are described as male, black, and both wearing black masks, black shirts, and blue jeans. Investigators are unsure if their intended target was at the restaurant.
Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory showed up immediately after the shooting and demanded a stop to this kind of violence. He said this is a family-owned business that has operated for decades without any kind of trouble.
"This community cannot continue to tolerate people shooting," said Mallory. "It's outrageous."
Tucker's is a diner-style restaurant that appeals not only to people living in the immediate area but also urban professionals who work downtown.
