Franklin Co bus driver killed in woodcutting accident

BATESVILLE, IN (FOX19) - A Batesville School Corporation bus driver was found dead today, after what police say was an accident involving woodcutting.

Police were dispatched to the home of 46-year-old Peter A. Sturm when he failed to show up to work Tuesday morning. When police were unable to locate Strum, a neighbor told police that he was known to cut wood on his property.

When police searched the outskirts of the property, they found the body of Peter Strum. Police determined that he was apparently cutting a tree sometime over the weekend when it fell on him causing massive head trauma and internal injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by representatives of the Franklin County Coroner's office.
