LEBANON, OH (FOX19)- Jury Selection will continue Wednesday in the third murder trial of Ryan Widmer. The process began Tuesday in Warren County, and Judge Neal Bronson says he expects to have the jury in place by the end of the day.
The identity of the prosecution's mystery witness was revealed to defense lawyers on Tuesday. Bronson then granted a motion by the defense to delay testimony until next week, so they can look into the background of the witness. That witness claims Widmer confessed to killing his wife, 24-year-old Sarah Widmer, in 2008.
Attorneys have been prohibited by the court from discussing the case with the media, including the identity of the prosecution's mystery witness.
A conviction in Widmer's first trial was overturned due to juror misconduct, and a second trial ended in a hung jury.
