Robber with assault rifle gets away empty handed

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a local pizza store with an assault rifle, but got away empty-handed when the employees could not open the register.

Police say around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday night, a suspect entered the Little Caesar's Pizza on W. Galbraith Road with an assault rifle and demanded money.

The employees were unable to open the cash register and the suspect fled the store with no money. No shots were fired, and no one was hurt.

The suspect is believed to have run away to a car that was parked at a nearby business. The car is described as dark green, possibly a Grand Am, with dark tinted windows and was last seen leaving the area northbound on Colerain Avenue near Ronald Reagan Highway.
