The search continues this morning for a man now identified as Eugene Allen, 39, who apparently drowned in a local river. At this point, rescue teams are calling this a recovery effort as it appears there is little hope left of finding this person alive. The incident happened about 8:30 last night at the Locust Pike Park boat ramp in the Ryland Heights area. A man with a new sea-doo, who apparently did not know how to swim and was not wearing a life vest, lost control of his watercraft. Witnesses say he went under the water and did not come back up. To make matters worse, the tragedy may have been witnessed by his family. "He was here with his family. He had just bought it and was taking it for a test ride," said Sgt. Paul Harney of the Kenton County Sheriff's Department. Campbell County water rescue has been using a number of techniques to try and the man including cadaver dogs and underwater cameras.
