BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) - A Northern Kentucky man who was found guilty in the death of his infant daughter has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

An autopsy of the two month old baby showed several broken bones in the process of healing. The baby died in July of 2009.

Benjamin Senseman, 32, was convicted of second-degree murder by a Boone County jury in December. Dr. Gregory Wanger, state medical examiner for Northern Kentucky, testified in the trial that the fatal injury was a blow to the head and couldn't have happened from routine handling.

Investigators believe the child died from head trauma. Police said Laura Senseman was at work when the incident happened, but investigators believe the special prosecutor working the case opted to charge the mother after the autopsy revealed the child had sustained serious injuries up to two weeks prior to the fatal injuries inflicted on July 12, 2009. Laura, was acquitted in this case.
