PAINT TWP (FOX19)- The Highland County Sheriff's Department makes an arrest in connection with an armed robbery at the Beechwood Food Mart in Paint Township.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office received a call from a citizen who said they knew who the suspect was after seeing a composite of the suspect and pictures of the suspects car.

Deputies say at about 2:00 Saturday afternoon 41 year old Larry Smith of Hillsboro entered the store with a gun.

Smith is also wanted by the Springfield Police Department in Clark County Ohio in connection with an armed robbery in their jurisdiction.

Smith is currently being held at the Highland County Justice Center where his bond was set at $50,000. Highland County Sheriff Detectives will be working with Clark county authorities and further investigate the possible involvement of Smith in other related criminal activity.

Sheriff Ward says "this is a prime example where suspect and suspect vehicle information were made public in an effort to jog someone's memory of persons they may have seen or know within their respective communities. We had several calls of informational tips in this case and this case was solved with help from the general public and we appreciate their ongoing support of local law enforcement."
