WEST CHESTER (FOX19) - A 57-year-old West Chester man will go to court for a crash that killed a 25-year-old Cincinnati man who was unloading a moving van last month.
Police have now charged Richardson Hamilton with vehicular manslaughter. This is a second degree misdemeanor. It carries a fine of up to $750 and 90 days in jail.
Hamilton was arraigned and released in Butler County Area three Court this morning.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, January 22 on Lesourdsville West Chester Road when a pickup truck drove into a parked moving van.
Police said Aaron Michael Thompson and another man, 41-year-old Clayton Marksbury of Fairfield, were unloading the moving van when the driver of the truck lost control of his vehicle.
Police said the truck hit the back of the van, where Thompson was standing, trapping him between the van and the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers said that Marksbury was thrown from the back of the van onto the ground.
He was taken to the hospital, along with Richardson Hamilton. Both had non-life-threatening injuries.
