GERMANTOWN, OH (FOX19) - Carbon Monoxide poisoning appears to be the cause of death for an Ohio State Trooper and his wife on Thursday.

Tim Hall, 48, and his wife were found in their Germantown home Thursday morning. Germantown is just west of Dayton in Montgomery County.

The carbon monoxide was emitted by a generator running in the garage. They didn't have power at their home.

Their bodies were found after Hall didn't show up to work at the Lebanon Post.

"If somebody had a needed some guidance as far as on the road type work, he was the type of person that the guys were very comfortable going to and talking to," said Mike Sanders with the Lebanon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. "This is going to be a really big adjustment."

Hall was supposed to retire in two months. He was a 25 year veteran with OSHP.

The Ohio State Troopers have released the following statement:

Message from Colonel John Born

Today is a sad day for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. We tragically lost members of our Patrol family. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Tpr. Timothy Hall and his wife, Molly, who were found in their garage this morning near a power generator. The German Township Police Department is conducting the investigation. I am sure friends and family of both Tim and Molly will be on the minds and in prayers of those within the Patrol for many days to come.
