TAYLOR MILL, KY (FOX19) - A middle school in Taylor Mill was locked down for a short time Thursday morning after a fight between two eighth graders.
According to Kenton County School officials, at around 9:00 am, two eighth grade students got into a fight while walking to class at Woodland Middle School. During the fight, one student pulled out a knife.
The school was locked down, which is normal procedure when a weapon is shown at the school.
School administrators and the school resource officer were able to defuse the situation before police arrived.
The school was placed off of lockdown shortly after. School counselors were on hand to help any student or personnel who were upset by the incident.
The names of the students involved in the fight have not been released.
