CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) - Friends of Keller's IGA in Clifton hosted a meeting on Saturday, updating the community on the store's possible re-opening.
The owners of the store had to shut its doors in January when they were unable to raise the nearly $20,000 they owed in delinquent taxes.
However, Friends of Keller's claims that shutting the business down has resulted in a loss of jobs for the community and costs the State of Ohio about $50,000 a month in unemployment.
The group is asking Governor Kasich to help work out a payment plan to get Keller's reopen. They point out that the governor's message is "Ohio Open for Business".
The Keller's IGA is a family-owned grocery store that has been in the Cincinnati area since the early 1900's.
