CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A mother has been charged with four counts of child endangerment after leaving her four children home alone, the oldest being 10 years old.

Police received a report on Sunday of children left alone inside a home in the 1700 block of Fairmount Avenue around 2 p.m.

When a police officer arrived on the scene, he knocked on the door several times with no answer. After about an hour, a 10-year-old child answered the door. The officer found no adult in the home and the 10-year-old was caring for three younger children, ages 5, 3, and 1.

The mother of the children arrived home shortly after and told the officer she was shopping at a store. Tiffany Tubbs, 26, was arrested around 5 p.m. Sunday.

According the police report, based on an interview with the 10-year-old, the mother was not capable for caring for the children.
